  8. What is a bagua map?
  9. What kinds of companies out there do feng shui interior design arrangements for office furniture?

1) What is feng shui and what is its purpose?

Feng shui is a body of knowledge containing best practices and a set of guidelines for creating a balanced, harmonious environment, in terms of both exterior and interior applications. Pronounced “fung shway,” feng shui is derived from the Chinese words for “wind” and “water.”

Besides its origins with its focus centering on generating oneness with nature, feng shui’s meaning of “wind” and “water” is doubly relevant in that these two elements are very sensitive to the energy passing through each other. A calm night may have placid mist on the water and a gentle breeze, but if there is energy in disharmony, a hurricane could occur.

To prevent hurricanes from happening, feng shui teaches a combination of simple and complex rules that are orchestrated to correctly channel the energy around us and in us, which is called “chi” or “qi”. In business terms, your company’s chi could be interpreted as a mixture of what propels your team and compels clients towards mutual harmony and benefit. In other words, your company’s chi is basically the energy from your surroundings that promotes good business. Feng shui’s chi impacts on how comfortable you might feel in your home, the stress level at work, and even how welcome a new client feels upon entering your office.

2) Where does the practice of feng shui come from?

Ancient Chinese shamans and kings used feng shui principles involving astronomy to find connections between mankind and their surrounding home in the universe. Closely utilizing the science and cosmography of the first magnetic luopan compass and the luiren astrolabe, feng shui was used as a tool to determine time and layout plans for agriculture for bountiful harvests and to arrange graves, homes, palaces, businesses, and even whole cities. Feng shui relics and artifacts have been found dating back to even 3000 BC. It was during the Zhou dynasty (770-476 BC) that feng shui became interwoven with the I-Ching classic Book of Changes, fortune-reading trigrams and hexagrams with advice for what to do in certain situations in life.

3) What are the benefits of feng shui?

While the applications of feng shui have evolved over the years and some of the nuances of the rules have changed leading to new schools of thought, the art of feng shui has been tried and tested and has yielded thousands of years of steady results. Users of feng shui in the workplace cite increased productivity, reduced stress from disharmonious surroundings resulting in better health, morale, and energy level, and improved confidence among the benefits produced by feng shui’s impact. Other benefits include improved employee employer relations, better logistical flow of people, nicer office and office furniture aesthetics, and a deeper connection with nature.

4) Is feng shui the real deal or just superstition?

While some of feng shui’s belying meaning may seem mystical, much of feng shui is rooted in common sense and practical living. It has also been tried and tested over 5000 years and is still around. In fact, feng shui has been employed in some of the world’s most famous and successful architecture of both ancient and modern times. It should be noted that mystic astrology and scientific astronomy have closely been related since their beginnings, and a case can be made for astronomical alignments impacting life and energy – even stock prices – on Earth. As technology advances, more applications can be found for feng shui. Environmental psychology notes the benefits of ergonomically designed furniture based on scientifically reducing stress on the natural curves of the body – why not also a holistic ergonomic of naturally fitting into one’s environment?

5) How does feng shui work?

Feng shui takes information about your surrounding environment, accesses tools such as a bagua map, luoshu grid or luopan compass, and determines a reading for the appropriate design, layout and siting of a place of residency, business, repose, etc. Then a process is put into action involving the removal of bad energy, followed by the arranging of objects and furniture to channel the optimal flow of positive energy, and the additional placement of objects or arrangement to get the energy going. The way it works after this process takes place is really a continual awareness and sensitivity towards one’s surroundings and a attuning to a positive attitude towards becoming one with nature.

6) How can I judge whether implementing feng shui principles in my office really helped?

Write a checklist of before and after questions and survey your employees. You might ask:

  • What is your personal stress level like at work?
  • Are you more in tune with your surroundings?
  • Do you feel that your concentration level has improved?
  • Are your communications with fellow employees and supervisors improved?
  • Is it easier to get around the office?
  • What were you holding onto before implementing feng shui office techniques that you have since let go of?
  • Is your focus more or less on career growth now as before?

These qualitative questions and of course the bottom line can help determine the ROI of feng shui in your office.

7) What are some basic feng shui principles?

Some basic feng shui tenets you might have heard include “don’t have your back to the door” and bring in red eggs and red fish for good luck. You should fundamentally follow the bagua map in geographic location / siting, exterior facing, interior allocation, and desk arrangement for various furniture, equipment, picture frames etc to match functionality with the reading. Decluttering your office is also a key element. Many other feng shui rules allow for freedom of space, strengthening hospitality, confidence and communication. Natural elements such as flowing organic lines, energetic paintings, windows, plants, and water are good for energizing and maintaining the flow of positive chi energy. Desk materials (wood, metal, glass) and interior colors also have their significance in feng shui.

8) What is a bagua map?

A bagua map is a grid and compass correlating 8 directions with 8 basic readings of chi in balance.

9) What kinds of companies out there do feng shui interior design arrangements for office furniture?

You may find that several companies out there do feng shui including interior designers, home decorators, architects, and more. However, not all companies that claim to do it can back it up, so do your homework. Also, while feng shui is a holistic teaching, employing many aspects of your surroundings (siting, physical building and appearance, interior arrangement and appearance, interior function, etc.) it is best to opt for a company with breadth of service. With the new and used office furniture reseller CubeKing for example, you have a one stop shop for office furniture purchasing, liquidation, removal and storage, as well as office space planning.

Recommendations for
orchestrating and building your office and office furniture systems with the design element of shape in mind to provide the utmost in enriched interior character and brand identity...

Angular & Pointy

Sharp and jaunting angled office furniture can provide the persons inhabiting the office with feeling of , aggression, foresighted integration, and penetrating ideas. Concave shapes can be found in this environment too, where the edges point out. This is especially popular on tables and reception desks. Technologically advanced, innovative, entertainment, and acquisition-based companies should give office furniture of this type of shape a closer look – but don’t poke out your eye!

Rounded, Oval & Organic

Rounded and organic office furniture is perhaps the opposite of the aforementioned sharp and pointy. Instead of aggressive it is passive, flowing and receptive. It can almost be compared to the feminine aspect as opposed to the angular masculine. However, concave shapes (usually with rounded edges) can still be successfully thrown in with convex curves here. Organic companies value creative spontaneity, customer service, finesse, and perhaps even the environment. Liberal usage of free-flowing ovals and wavy lines can be contribute to very high energy levels in the office communicated through the office furniture. For a softer feel, employ more curve. Organic-shaped office furniture, including high-end work surfaces, chair backs, signage and carpeting patterns are an ever-growing trend in interior design for offices today.

Circular & Cylindrical

Perfect circles, concentric lines and cylinders are a more neutralized version of the organic, but can still add a lot of pep (think Target advertising campaign) to a company’s brand perception upon some outsider’s entry into the office. Round tables provide a sense of fellowship, roundish chairs provide ergonomics, and circular reception areas can run the gamut from austere to sporty. As such, companies that stand on full-service, flexibility and fun may find circular furniture ideal for their office furniture needs to reflect their brand.

Rectangular & Square

Traditional office furniture conceptions involve a lot of rectangular and square treatments of office furniture. Cubicles and call centers today don’t have to be completely square either. Squares and rectangles breathe stability, neutrality, calm, and objectivity. Aesthetically, these shapes also may reflect minimalism, the ultra-logical, or even a bit of intimidation to boot. This can be good for companies where financial stability, credibility and authority are of high priority and are qualities that are key benefits included in the company’s positioning statement and brand.

Continuous Improvement : Basic principles

  1. Challenge : Having a long term vision of the challenges one needs to face in order to realize one's ambition (what we need to learn rather than what we want to do‹and then having the spirit to face that challenge). To do so, we have to challenge ourselves every day to see if we are achieving our goals.
  2. Kaizen : Good enough never is, no process can ever be thought perfect, so operations must be improved continuously, striving for innovation and evolution.
  3. Genchi Genbutsu : Going to the source to see the facts for oneself and make the right decisions, create consensus, and make sure goals are attained at the best possible speed.
  4. Respect Taking every stakeholders' problems seriously, and making every effort to build mutual trust. Taking responsibility for other people reaching their objectives. Thought provoking, I find. As a manager, I must take responsibility for my subordinates reaching the target I set for them.
  5. Teamwork : This is about developing individuals through team problem-solving. The idea is to develop and engage people through their contribution to team performance.

Feng Shui Cures

Colour: The different shades of colour can uplift or depress you. Colour has different vibrations and each colour of the rainbow has a purpose and a time to be used.

1. Red: a strong colour that is great to keep you going. A good colour for a dining room to keep guests energized and excited. Not a good colour for the bedroom unless you desire lots of passion.

2. Orange: a happy colourthat is refreshing and revitalizing. Good for kitchens and playrooms. Softer shades for family rooms where you want a place for fun and relaxing.

3. Yellow: a happy colour that brings creativity and vitality. Great for kitchens and offices where creativity is needed. Also good for guest rooms if you do not want the guests to overstay their welcome.

4. Green: a healing and calming colour. Great for living rooms and bedrooms. It renews us and keeps us in balance.

5. Blue: a healing and mentally relaxing colour. Good to bring blue into a room when someone is ill. Also good to keep the occupants calm and relaxed.

6. Indigo: a relaxing colour. Good for kids and to keep health in the home.

7. Purple: a colour of richness and transformation. Great for spiritual rooms and to splash around the home for wealth and abundance.

* Light: Lighting is best brought into the home by natural sunlight. Placement of good quality lighting can uplift or calm an area. Bright lights keeps the room full of movement and activity. To quiet an area invite YIN energy into the home. Yin energy is a softer and lower lighting, that induces calmness and low activity. A great way to play with your lighting is to introduce dimmers on your light switches. This allows you to change the feel of the room with a switch.

* Touch:We touch things everyday but do not truly feel what we are touching. Feel the warmth of your couch or the coolness of your tables. Feel the sensations from your pillows, clothes, food...and observe what you are experiencing. The warmth of a mug relaxes you while the coldness of a drink makes you want to move and get going with your day.

* Smell: Aromas are very powerful and are easy to bring into the home. The smell of lemons makes the home feel light and airy. One small smell from one section of the home changes the energy composition through the entire house. We become used to our house smells. You can change the smell of your home and the energy level with essential oils, good quality scented candles and fresh air. After a debate, light a lavender candle to bring harmony into the home.

* Taste: Our taste buds are very powerful. Each life area is associated with one of the taste buds. Drink lemon juice and water to bring abundance into your home.

* Life Areas and Your Tastebuds *

1. Knowledge: Sweet/Bland
2. Career: Salty
3. Helpful People: Hot/Spicy
4. Family: Sour
5. Children/Creativity: Hot/Spicy
6. Wealth/Abundance: Sour
7. Fame/Reputation: Bitter
8. Personal Relationships: Sweet/Bland

* Living Things: Pets, plants, and flowers uplift the energy in the home. If your green thumb or pet skills are low, put a bunch of flowers on your grocery list to bring in fresh vibrant energy. Use the colour chart above to decide what type of flowers to bring into the home.

* Pictures/Objects: Homes are filled with artwork. What does your artwork say about you? If you want a relationship, look around at all your art and decorative objects and figure out what they are saying? Place art around the home that is in tune to what you want today. Much of our stuff was for yesterday, we need to change our stuff to get new results. If you do not want to get rid of your artwork, take it down for 2-4 weeks and place it in storage. Notice the changes that occur. Place the artwork back. Does your life become stuck again? Remember the old saying; "We are what we see."

* Movement: Energy is constantly swirling around us. Many times we forget about the importance of air and its quality on us.While a home that has a sweet breeze from the outside is refreshing and uplifting. Transform your air by opening a window even on those cold days, if only for a minute.

*Numbers For the 8 Life Areas*

* South: Fame/ Reputation: 9
* Southwest: Personal Relationships: 2
* West: Children/ Creativity: 7
* East: Family/ Ancestors: 3
* Northwest: Helpful People/Travel: 6
* North: Career: 1
* Northeast: Knowledge/Skills: 8
* Southeast: Wealth/ Abundance: 4
* Center: Health: 9

Example:

The southwest quadrants number is 2. Place objects/articles in pairs to activate the personal relationship corner. Two is the number that represents loving relationships that are faithful and trusting.

If you place objects of 3 or more you may find your mate strays. Those looking for love, often have singular items or mismatched items in their bedrooms. One may incorporate the numbers by the numbers of objects displayed. There are many creative ways to bring in the numbers.

You may have a chime with 6 chimes or place 4 plants in a container or hang a crystal in the window that is 8 inches or centimeters long. Another great trick is to have a picture that has a certain number of objects in the painting.

Brain in Stomach-The SECOND BRAIN

Scientists are claiming to have discovered a second brain - in the human stomach.

Ever had a physical sensation that something wasn’t quite right? Or perhaps an odd feeling that a situation was somehow dangerous?

Or have you had “butterflies” in your stomach just before an important meeting or situation?

That was your second brain in action...

“My second brain?” you ask.

Yes. Unknown to most people, we actually have two physical brains. You’re intimately familiar with the brain encased in your skull. But did you know you also have a second brain in your gut?

Actually, over one half of your nerve cells are located in your gut.

And you may be even more surprised to learn that your second “gut brain” contains neurons and neurotransmitters just like those found in your skull.

Plus here’s something that may come as even more of a shock! Just like your primary brain, your “gut brain” is also able to learn, remember, and produce emotion-based feelings.

The expression “gut-level feeling” isn’t just a “saying.” We really do have feelings in our gut.

Our two brains communicate back and forth via a major nerve trunk extending down from the base of your brain all the way down into your abdomen. Because of this, your two brains directly influence each other.

When one brain becomes upset, the other joins right in.

That’s why your stomach might get “fluttery” because of anxiety before an important meeting. Or why a late night spicy snack that’s hard on your stomach might also give you some nasty nightmares.

** The Mystery of the Second Brain
How do we happen to have two brains?

During early fetal development both your “gut” (esophagus, stomach, small intestine and colon) and your primary brain started to develop from the same clump of embryonic tissue.

When that piece of tissue divided, one piece grew into your central nervous system (your brain and cranial nerves). The other section became your enteric nervous system (your “gut brain.”)

During later stages of fetal development, these two brains then became connected via a massive nerve -- the vagus nerve.

The vagus nerve is the longest of all our cranial nerves, and creates a direct connection between your brain and your gut.

Because of this direct brain-gut connection, the state of your gut has a profound influence on your psychological well being.

*How it Works
Your “gut brain” -- known to scientists as the enteric nervous system (ENS) -- is embedded in the sheaths of tissue lining your esophagus, stomach, small intestine and colon.

And, nearly every brain-regulating chemical found in your brain has also been found in your gut brain -- including both hormones and neurotransmitters.

In “The Second Brain,” Dr. Michael Gershon, a professor at New York City’s Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center, refers to the entire gastrointestinal system as “the body's second nervous system.”

"The brain is not the only place in the body that's full of neurotransmitters,” Dr. Gershon explains. "One hundred million neurotransmitters line the length of the gut -- approximately the same number found in the brain."

Actually, the total of nerve cells in your gut is greater than the total nerves connecting the rest your body to your brain. This complex circuitry allows your “gut brain” to act totally independent of the brain in your skull.

*Your “Sleep-Gut Brain” Connection
As research on the circuitry between our two brains progresses, neuro-scientists are understanding more and more about how we act and feel.

For example: Our brain and gut are so interconnected that both have natural 90-minute “sleep cycles.” In the brain, slow-wave sleep is interrupted by periods of rapid eye movement (REM) sleep during which dreams occur.

The gut has corresponding 90-minute cycles of slow-wave muscle contractions. But as with the brain’s REM sleep intervals, these cycles are interrupted by corresponding short bursts of rapid muscle movement.

*Your “Stress-Gut Brain” Connection
Little needs be said about the connection between stress and our gut. In many ways, this may be the most visible brain-gut problem of our times.

Anyone who has ever become emotionally upset knows the immediate effect on their gut. Your stomach “ties itself in knots,” rumbles and growls, and stops digesting.

The results include chronic indigestion, ulcers, and a whole host of unpleasant conditions. If your stress is chronic, or intense enough, your colon may even go into spasms.

*Your “Pain-Gut Brain” Connection
But our “gut brains” also help us in some amazing ways. They are a primary source of pain relief. The “gut brain” naturally produces chemicals (benzodiazepine) found in many pain relievers, and anti-anxiety drugs like Valium.

And like your primary brain, your “gut brain” also has opiate receptors.

“Drugs like morphine and heroin also attach to the gut's opiate receptors,” pain management specialist Dr Michael Loes tells us. “And both brains can become addicted to opiates."

*Mastering Your “Gut Brain”
Many mystical and natural healing practices consider the belly a major center of energy and higher consciousness.

In China, the gentle arts of Tai Chi and Qigong emphasize the lower abdomen as a major reservoir for life energy and health. The belly is considered the “dantian,” a key center for higher consciousness development.

This 'second brain' is made up of a knot of brain nerves in the digestive tract. It is thought to involve around 100 billion nerve cells - more than held in the spinal cord.

Researchers believe this belly brain may save information on physical reactions to mental processes and give out signals to influence later decisions. It may also be responsible in the creation of reactions such as joy or sadness.

The research is outlined in the latest issue of German science magazine, Geo, in which Professor Wolfgang Prinz, of the Max Planck Institute for Psychological Research in Munich, says the discovery could give a new twist on the old phrase "gut reaction".

He said: "People often follow their gut reactions without even knowing why, its only later that they come up with the logical reason for acting the way they did. But we now believe that there is a lot more to gut feelings than was previously believed."

Professor Prinz thinks the stomach network may be the source for unconscious decisions which the main brain later claims as conscious decisions of its own.

The second brain was rediscovered by Michael Gershorn, of the University of Colombia in New York, after it was forgotten by science. He says it was first documented by a 19th century German neurologist, Leopold Auerbach.

He discovered two layers of nerve cells near a piece of intestine he was dissecting. After putting them under the microscope he found they were part of a complex network.

Recent research has already raised the idea that many reactions may be made in the stomach. Benjamin Libet, of the University of California found the brains of volunteers asked to raise their arms only registered activity about half a second after the movement had been made. He believes his work implies another part of the body may have been involved in making the decision.

It’s important to have your “gut brain” operating at its best. Start by paying attention to what’s going on in your digestive system.

Remember, your gut is about a whole lot more than just digesting your food -- it also reacts to and digests your inward and outward “realities.”

"Thinking" from "head" brain & "Emotions" from "stomach/gut" brain...hav Guts!!!

Yoga is an excercise to stomachbrain & Meditation to head brain , So yoga helps control Emotions & meditation helps Thought process...

Ultimate Guide to Coolness..... ( YO ! )

BASICS

  1. Act like you do not care what others think of you. We will always, on some level, be concerned with others' opinions of ourselves, but realize that ultimately, you will never be able to please everyone, so why bother trying? People have thousands of ways to get at you. Learn to spot them and become immune. Be happy and have fun.
  2. Present yourself in a positive way. Walk with good posture and look people in the eye (but keep an eye out for stuff like banana peels, bowel discharge etc). If you slump or stare at your feet (or banana peels, bowel discharge etc), people won't respect you. You have to look and feel confident in order to receive the respect you need.
  3. Find real friends (and by that we don’t mean orkut ‘phriends’). For example, if people don't hang out with you because you don't wear branded clothes, they are not real friends. Instead, find friends that see you for who you are (and not your online profile). If the people standing in front of you can't see you for you, then how can they be your friend? (or they might actually turn out to be blind!)
  4. Don't be afraid to be different, whether that means standing up for your self, defending someone else, or taking interest in something that no one else does (and by that we don’t mean taking interest in banana peels, bowel discharge etc.), like playing an instrument or dancing when no one else will (though look out if the reason is banana peels or bowel discharge etc). The coolest people are the ones who occasionally break against the tide and make people question the rules.
  5. Speak up. Observe people who are "cool"--they usually speak confidently and clearly, at a good pace. They don't chatter rapidly, pause, or mumble. They say what they mean, and mean what they say (what the?). Be confident in your word and don't let anyone try and change it. If you state your opinion and people disagree, don't worry. Don't shout out your opinion just to be heard. Make sure it's relevant, and be ready to back it up. Don’t be adamant though (or act stupid).
  6. Learn how to laugh at yourself. Being cool doesn't mean being perfect, and being able to find humor in your moments of clumsiness (like stepping on banana peels or bowel discharge etc) and discomfort is the defining hallmark of being cool. People will not only respect you for it, but they'll like you for being human, just like them.
  7. Be friendly, but not excessively eager (or desperate). Everyone loves someone who is outgoing (and straight), but nobody likes someone who is overly excited (or maybe gay….maybe). Many people find someone who is overeager to be annoying. Try not to force yourself on people (literally). Smile and strike up a conversation (but not about topics such as banana peels or bowel discharge etc), but make sure you know the line between friendly and obsessive.
  8. Use appropriate language. Many people think it makes them cool when they abuse, but all it's really doing is showing that you're trying to be cool.
  9. Be a good conversationalist. Everyone loves someone who knows what to say at the right moment. Most of the time, it is much better to be sort of quiet and analyze the conversation, enjoying the humor of your friends. Then wait for the right moment to make a comment, usually to great result. However, if you come up into the middle of a quiet group of people, it is better to take a Tony Stark (IronMan fame) approach. Be playful! Joke around with them. Making fun of people is fine, but make sure that you know the limits on it and that the people you're around are the kind of people who know you're kidding.
  10. Dress how you want. As long as your personality shines through, you can wear whatever you like. You should know what you are comfortable in (and by that we mean not coming to college in your boxers). Being cool despite wearing something people generally make fun of is the true sign of coolness.

A BIT MORE….

  • It is way uncool to trip or fall in front of people (specially on banana peels or bowel discharge etc) only to get up and lose your composure and act defeated. In this instance, you'll be the laughing stock of your witnesses. These things can happen to anyone, so if you DO trip and fall, when you get up, confidently brush yourself off , give the thumbs up, add a grin, and go on your way (but if you happen to fall on banana peels or bowel discharge etc cover your face and run away!). Keeping your composure is key. Laughing at yourself can be a good way to make it seem less awkward and makes you seem relaxed.
  • Be humble. Vanity isn't cool.
  • If being picked on is your worry, know and understand that showing yourself affected by it is precisely what separates the coolest from the others, and take this as a chance to actually be perceived as cool. Know that who you are in your core is not determined by others, especially if they don´t truly know you. Be happy with yourself as you are, since there is nothing really wrong with you.
  • Learn to read people and be patient when sharing an opinion ( not about banana peels or bowel discharge etc….c’mon you knew this was coming!). Understand that whatever you say to someone or give advice, that is just your opinion. They either accept it or reject it, there's no need to force them to understand. Just make sure you know what you're talking about.
  • Change your attitude--have a positive attitude . Cool people always have a positive attitude. Everyone likes a positive person. When people get to know you and see that you always have a positive look on things (like banana pee…….ok, we think we’ve had enough of that!) even when things are not going your way, they will enjoy your company.
  • Lastly and most importantly, BE YOURSELF. If you don't, it will follow you into the future and you'll have friends who only like the person you pretend to be, instead of you.

AND FINALLY…

  • Don't base your coolness on making others seem uncool. You'll make more enemies than friends that way. People aren't going to worship someone who bosses or beats them around all the time. They'll be scared maybe, but they won't respect you.
  • Don't lose sight of yourself or your morals. Being cool isn't about changing who you are, it’s about being confident enough to let people see how awesome you really are.
  • If you are accepting of others and include people, others will be attracted to your level of confidence of socializing and thus consider you cool to hang around with.
  • There is no textbook definition of cool. Some people may think it's cool to drink or smoke etc. (and banana peels and bowel discharge etc…..haha….we couldn’t resist!) whereas in reality its not. It will only turn other people off .
  • Never use your coolness to put people down!
  • Always stick up for those below you!
  • Lastly, Don’t try. Just be.,.,. Yeah ! Work up your Autosuggestions ..merci..

10 Tips to Improve Your Speaking Voice :-

One of the most important components of public speaking is the sound of your voice. It influences the impact of your message, and might even make or break the success of your speech. Fortunately, for many people, good voice quality can be learned.

Instructions :

Breathe from your diaphragm - Practice long and controlled exhales. When you speak, use breath to punctuate your point. For example, take a breath at the end of each phrase whether you need to or not. Use that opportunity to pause and let the listeners absorb what you say.

  • Use pitch - Lower pitches generally are more soothing to hear. However, modulating your pitch for emphasis will keep your listeners engaged. Develop your pitch by practicing humming.
  • Moderate your volume - Find out if you speak too loudly or too softly. When you begin speaking, ask your audience how your volume is (each situation is different). Try to stay at the appropriate volume throughout your speech.
  • Moderate your pace - This one is also closely related to breath. If you speak too quickly, people can’t keep up. If you speak too slowly, people will lose interest. Record your speech to determine if you need to change your pace. Get feedback from others.
  • Articulate - Try exaggerating your lip movement to reduce mumbling. Practice articulating tongue twisters and extending and exaggerating vowel sounds. Become an expert at articulating tongue twisters as quickly and crisply as possible. Focus on the ones you find difficult.
  • Practice your speech in advance and determine where you want to pause for a breath. For more emphasis, pause for more than one breath. Mark your breathing points in your notes.
  • Loosen up before you begin. Look side to side. Roll your head in half-circles and roll your shoulders back. Shift your rib cage from side to side. Yawn. Stretch. Touch your toes while completely relaxing your upper body, then slowly stand up, one vertebra at a time, raising your head last. Repeat as needed.
  • Posture - Stand up straight and tall to allow full lung capacity and airflow.
  • Record your voice repeatedly using different ways of speaking. Determine which one is most pleasing.
  • Practice breath control - Take a deep breath, and while you exhale, count to 10 (or recite the months or days of the week). Try gradually increasing your volume as you count, using your abdominal muscles—not your throat—for volume. Don’t let your larynx tense up.

Why Recessions can be good for you?

Learn to Turn a Recession into one of the best things that ever happened ....

1) It's time to decide if you really want to be in this business.

Don't spend a lot of time on it, just ask yourself the question. When things get tough, it's always a good question to ask.
a. If the answer is, "I love what I do, even now," good. Now you can be more committed than ever to being successful at what you do. It's important to routinely re-commit to the things we're doing. You don't want to get to the end of your career and regret that you didn't pursue your real dream.

b. If the answer is, "I'm really not enjoying this anymore - my heart's not in it," then it's time to make some big changes.

c. If the answer is, "I still love what I do - but I need to make more money," keep reading. That's what this article is about.

2) It's time to gain a deeper understanding of the concerns your customers have when they are making the buying decision.

When people are less free with their spending, the concerns they have during the buying process loom even larger in their minds. These "barriers to the sale" can more easily stop a sale.

The good news is, buyers who are in hesitation mode are more open to describing their concerns to you, if you ask them the right way. The Appendix in the book rivers of revenue goes into great detail about how to interview potential customers and current customers. It shows you how to find the right people to interview, which questions will give you the best response, how to conduct the interviews, and what to do with the information once you've gathered it. You can use these calls to understand what their concerns are, what else they've done to solve their problem, what they want from someone like you, and what they would consider a fair price for your type of service.

During the call, you must resist the temptation to sell to them - even if they invite you to. Save that for another call. This call should be strictly an interview call, where they talk and you just listen. You only say enough to get them to talk.

3) It's time to look at the processes you are using to find new business, complete each sale, and all of the "paperwork" associated with each sale.

When times are good, a little inefficiency here and there doesn't hurt you much. But when things are slow, you must increase your selling efficiency. Because selling is usually run by sales types, the process of selling is usually shortchanged. Sales types hate thinking about processes; they find analysis is boring. They'd rather sit through a Wagnerian opera than dissect and improve the processes associated with selling.

What you need to do is thoroughly examine the typical sale, from start to finish. Where do the leads come from? What happens to them when they come in? How are they given to the salespeople? How quickly do the salespeople follow up? (Note: If you're not responding to a prospect's email within a half hour, you've already lost the sale to a faster-moving competitor.) How do they follow up? What happens then? What questions are asked by the customer during the sales process? Who's involved at the customer end? What clinches the sale? What happens afterwards? Is the customer thanked for his/her business? Is the customer asked for a testimonial? Do you make it easy for the customer to refer others?

No matter what the economy is doing, knowing the answers to these questions - and making the changes needed to get things working more smoothly - will result in higher revenue.

4) It's time to look at what your competitors are doing and implement some of their better ideas.

We can all learn from our competition. If you routinely visit competitive websites, you will find things that make it easier for the customer to understand what is being sold and easier for the customer to buy. If they are doing something better than you are in these areas, improve what you are doing. This will help you now, when times are slow, and even more, when business picks up again.

Whatever you do, don't slow down with the rest of the economy.

It's such a temptation to become a victim when the press is screaming "RECESSION" wherever you turn. But, this is not the time to take a snooze, just because you assume everyone else is asleep.

This is the time to tiptoe out of the Recession Zone and start focusing on making it easier for your customers to buy. This is the time to re-commit to your life's work, to learn everything you can. This is the time to give your revenue machine an overhaul. You'll sell more - now, during the slow time, and later, when people start spending more freely again.

2012 - End of the world

Do you know about end of world will happen in 2012. In internet i saw some where reasons for it. These days there are many news in newspapers and television that Year 2012 will be the end of World. Due to many reasons as Global Warming is rising, Mayan Calendar, The Polar Shift Theory, The Bible Code & Nostradamus Prophesies, the new Planet "Nibiru" will be there in our Solar System and that will be end of our Life.

Mayan Calendar: The ancient Mayan calendar states that the world will end in December 21, 2012. The Mayan civilization flourished in Central America from the 6 AD to 9 AD. They were obsessed with time keeping, and in fact, their calender were so incredibly precise that its interlocking time scales of lunar, solar, and planetary cycles could accurately predict solar-lunar eclipses thousands of years into the future. This accurate calendar however mysteriously ends on December 21, 2012.

It states that on December 21, 2012, the sun rises on the dark rift of the center of the milky way which is referred to as a black hole. In the last five years the western astronomers have in fact discovered that there is in fact an enormous black hole at the center of our milky way galaxy. The contemporary astronomers concur with the Mayans. On 21st of December, 2012 the Earth will be in exact alignment with the Sun and the center of our milky way galaxy, a galactic event which takes place only once every 25,800 years. No one knows what effect this extraordinary alignment will have on our planet, but the Mayans believe it would be terrible.

The Polar Shift Theory: Geophysicists have a theory that is strikingly similar to the events predicted by the Mayan alignment. The phenomenon is called the “polar shift” in which the entire mantle of the earth would shift in a matter of days or perhaps hours during such galactic events causing positions of the north and south pole to change, further causing worldwide disaster, earthquakes, tsunamis, volcanic eruptions, and other natural disasters.

Planet X or Nibiru Planet: This theory suggests that the real cause of climate changes, volcanic activities, and intensification of the seismic activity etc. is the planet Eris’s getting closer to our solar system once in 3600 years, named as 2003-UB-313, which ultimately results in the melting of the glaciers. This Planet Eris or so called “Nibiru” was first observed in October 21, 2003, using 1.22 m Oschin telescope at Mount Palomar Observatory(California). It is said to have passed between Mars and Jupiter some 7200 years ago, which most probably had triggered the cataclysm Noah’s flood and again this will be at the close proximity to Earth between 2010 and 2012, which can cause massive melting of the glaciers, causing huge tidal waves and ultimately, the return of the Noah’s flood.

I Ching: Another sets of factors backing up this December 21, 2012 Doomsday is the I Ching prophecy. Despite the views of skeptics, the 5000 years old I Ching has become an oracle of the doomsday. The highs and lows of the I Ching graphs seems to have accurately corresponded to the fall of the roman empire, discover of the new world, and world wars of the 20th century, and the strangest things of all was the time line came to an end to the exact specific date December 21, 2012. Is it a coincidence that both prophecies of I Ching and Mayan Calendar came to the same exact date and time? In fact, many world’s religions and most famous prophets reference that something cataclysmic will happen around December 21, 2012. The medieval predictions of Merlin, The Book of Revelation, and the well-known Chinese Oracle of the “I Ching” all point to this specific date as the end of civilization.

Nostradamus Prophesies: According to the certain algorithms of Bible code, a meteor, asteroid, or comet will soon collide with the Earth. Everybody knows the Nostradamus prophesies, that have very accurately predicting many world leaders rising to power and major events in the past. His prophesies were accurate in predicting the demise of the World Trade Centers in 2001 as well. Even the book “The Nostradamus Code” further speaks of a series of natural disasters caused by some kind of a “comet” and those studying the Prophecies of Nostradamus states that he might have further indicated the possibility of a “Third World War” where nuclear wars can create “comet-like” mass destructions everywhere. So are we going to have a Third World War? At the current scenario, it seems we might have - proving the Nostradamus Prophesies.

The Bible Code: If having scientists warning us about the end of the world isn't bad enough, religious folks are getting in on the act aswell. Interpretations of the Christian Bible reveal that the date for Armageddon, the final battle between Good an Evil, has been set down for 2012. The I Ching, also known as the Chinese book of Changes, says the same thing, as do various sections of the Hindu teachings.

Even the high-tech oracles which is not even human, i.e., “Web-Bots” are predicting the end of the world as December 21, 2012, besides the Mayan, I Ching, Merlin, Book Of Revelation, etc. Is it just a coincidence or a meaningless pattern of random events?

I believe ...iT dOeS hAvE tO hAppEn.......

hey leader,do you know the real you?

The adage, “careful what you ask for, you might get it” might apply here. You wanted to be a leader. Why? There are probably as many answers to that question as there are people reading this. (By the way…moms, dads, teachers, etc. are also leaders!).

Some of you became a leader because you wanted control. Control of your finances, your time, your future. Many who aspire to lead want to be the “go to” person…the person who gets things done, makes things happen.
You wanted to have the answers to the tough questions, be able to make the difficult decisions. Some may have wanted to be loved, looked up to, respected, or admired.

Whatever your reason, you’ve stepped up to a leadership position. People are looking to you for answers. Now it’s time to BE the leader you’ve aspired to be! All around you people are unsure, shaken and frightened…and they are looking to you for reassurance and encouragement. You had a vision. Others chose to follow you because they believed in your vision.
As their leader, you provide direction, confidence, and inspiration. They need to see in you the calm assurance that everything will be all right. Believe in your own vision…believe in yourself…now!

Remember...Tough times DO NOT build character - Tough times REVEAL character!

Quotations about Inborn Talents by Fame People..

Are we born with talent or hang onto that which we all are given. Probably a bit of both. Inborn talent is a proven thing, as is the effects of education. The key, then, is to know your own talent and then milk it for all that it’s worth !

Quotes:

‘To do easily what is difficult for others is the mark of talent.’
Henri-Frédéric Amiel

‘It takes little talent to see what is under one’s nose,
but a good deal of it to know in what direction to point that organ.’—W. H. Auden

‘The luck of having talent is not enough; one must also have a talent for luck.’
— Hector Berlioz

‘Your talent is God’s gift to you. What you do with it is your gift back to God.’— Leo Buscaglia

‘To every man there comes in his lifetime that special moment when he is figuratively tapped on the shoulder and offered the chance to do a very special thing, unique to him and fitted to his talents. What a tragedy if that moment finds him unprepared or unqualified for the work which could be his finest hour.’— Winston Churchill

‘Creative thinking is not a talent, it is a skill that can be learnt.’— Edward de Bono

‘I have no special talents. I am only passionately curious.’— Albert Einstein

Imagination is not a talent of some men but is the health of every man.’
Ralph Waldo Emerson

‘Every man starts with all there is.
Everything is here–the essence and substance of all there is.’— Henry Ford

‘Everyone has talent. What is rare is the courage to follow the talent to the dark place where it leads.’— Erica Jong

'The most gifted members of the human species are at their creative best when they cannot have their way, and must compensate for what they miss by realizing and cultivating their capacities and talents.’— Eric Hoffer

‘For if the talent or individuality is there, it should be expressed. If it doesn’t find its way out into the air, it can be turned inward and gnaw like the fox at the Spartan boy’s belly.’
Shirley McLaine

‘The most successful scientists are not the most talented. But they are the ones who are impelled by curiosity. They’ve got to know what the answer is’— Arthur Schawlow

‘The trick to creativity, if there is a single, useful thing to say about it, is to identify your own particular talent and then settle down to work with it for a good long time.’
Denise Shekerjian

‘Unused talents gives you no advantage over someone who has no talent at all.’

Neurobics- The Ultimate Brain Exercise

"It's like having more cell towers in your brain to send messages along. The more cell towers you have, the fewer missed calls,"Exercise is emerging as an extremely valuable way to enhance brain health. Studies show that even 30 minutes of brisk walking daily can improve blood flow to the brain, boosting neural growth factors and brain connectivity, perhaps as much as mental cross-training does.

Mental stimulation is one key. The more you challenge your brain, the more new nerve pathways you form. A mini-industry of brain teasers, puzzles and computer games has sprung up to help worried baby boomers do just that. But you can give your brain a good workout with just a few modifications in your daily life.

Stress has the opposite effect. The stress hormone cortisol depresses the growth of nerve cells and the connections between them. Yoga, meditation, exercise and social interaction can all help alleviate it

Getting sufficient sleep is also crucial. "REM sleep is when we consolidate memory and cement it in the brain,"."Let's put it this way: the brain represents three percent of the body's weight and uses 20 percent of the body's energy."

Examples Of Neurobics

  • Spend time in a new environment. Go to a new park, or a new store. Travel, by the way, seems to slow down age-related mental decline.
  • Try some aromatherapy. Smell new odors in the morning. Have new odors, like a bottle of mint extract ready to smell first thing in the morning, to "wake up" your brain.
  • Take a shower with your eyes closed. Your other senses become more active when you cannot see, and a shower engages several senses.
  • Try brushing your teeth with your non-dominant hand. This is difficult for some of us, and requires full attention the first time you try it.
  • Put on different clothes. Ever notice how you feel differently when you wear different clothes? You may think differently as well. Give it a try.
  • Learn to read braille. This is a tough one, but learning to read with your fingers definitely involves one of your senses in a new context.
  • Respond to a situation differently. Catch yourself in a normal and mostly unconscious response to a situation, and choose to respond in a different (and preferably better) way.
  • Find a new route to work. It doesn't have to be a longer route - just different. You may even find a faster way to work once you break your routine.
  • Act confidently. In a situation you are unsure about, choose to act confidently. You'll notice that your mind gets very active once you adopt the assumption that you will know what to do.
  • Distinguish coins using only your sense of touch. This brain exercise can be a way to kill time when waiting for an appointment. If you really want a challenge, see if you can distinguish paper currency denominations by touch.
  • Leave the lights off in the house. Get around your home by memory and feel. This certainly fully engages your attention, but be careful of course.
Quick Neurobic Exercises :-
  • Television Fun This one is not only fun, but good for stimulating creativity. You simply turn the volume off on television and invent the dialog based on what you see the characters doing. If you do this with a friend you can each play various roles. Most shows become comedies when doing this.
  • Read A New Magazine Find a magazine you normally wouldn't choose, and read it for a while. It should be a topic that you don't know much about. If you normally read about money-related topics, you might pick up a fishing magazine. As you read, relate what you are reading and learning to what you already know. This is another good creativity booster. It gets you out of your usual thinking patterns.
  • Shop In New Places Try a new store when you go shopping. It could be a new grocery store, just so you have to think to find your way around. It could also be a different kind of store that you would normally never visit
More Involved Neurobic Exercises:-
  • Have A Half-Speed Day Try this one on a day when you aren't going to work. The idea is to move at half your normal speed (if you are normally slow, you may want to try a double-speed day). This obviously requires concentration. You will become much more aware of actions that normally are mostly unconscious, such as brushing your teeth or sitting down.
  • Learn Sign Language Learning to talk with you hands definitely "involves one or more of your senses in a new context" (one of the rules of good neurobic exercises). If time is limited, you can learn just the basics, like how to say hello, tell someone your name, and spell out words. In larger cities, some deaf people sell a small pamphlet that teaches these basics.
  • New Recreation If you normally go to the city on the weekend, go camping instead. If you are normally an outdoor person on weekends, take a visit to the city for a change. In either case, find a way to make it interesting for you.
  • Garden Gardening, especially if you haven't been doing it regularly, meets all three criteria for a good neurobic exercise (see the page "Neurobics for the criteria). If you don't have the space for a garden outdoors, you can start a small herb garden in pots.

Well actually it’s not that easy. Although it may have been in the early days of the Internet, nowadays it’s harder to get noticed.
If you want to take the hassle out of selling, you know the dealing with buyers, advertising and shipping, then you may like the concept of consignment selling. With this method you only have to consign a product to receive a share of the selling price. You will normally be supplied with your own company website, complete with a back office and individuals will buy direct. If you have your own website and it is fairly established then many people choose extra income opportunities such as affiliate marketing where you place advertisements on your website, and you will earn commissions from the sales generated by the people visiting your site who click on the ads.
However, if you are new to the Internet and looking for a starting place, then you may be interested in some of the ready made online stores where you can be trading on the Internet within minutes. It is easy to keep track of your competition because your competitors will also be providing updated information and pricing on their websites.
It is important to remember that any business income you receive for goods or services, as well as any investment income will be liable for taxes, so make sure you check this out, when starting your extra income home business. Earn extra money So you want to earn extra money, and are considering setting up a home business, which you hope will help you to get rich. Perhaps a friend has recommended that one of the best ways to start a small business is by franchising. This can be an excellent way of earning extra money, but first you must do your homework, and learn the ins and outs, dos and don’t of buying a franchise.
Did you know that franchising in the USA is a model that makes a trillion dollars a year, and that more than half a million small business owners employ eight million workers? The first thing to remember is that although a good way to make money, franchising is not a get rich quick scheme, and it’s not for everyone. So before you start your home business, talk to as many business owners as you can, those who are already earning money from running a successful franchise, talk to the franchiser, ask as many questions as you can, and compare other systems in your area of interest.
It is important to read and comprehend the terms of the contract, and check the experience of the franchise’s managers, take a good look into their history, remember you are relying on their experience to earn extra money. It is then very important to evaluate yourself, and make sure you have the skills, and will be comfortable operating this type of small business. Then research, research, research and do even more research. It is impossible to stress how important this is, as the more you know the better your judgment will be and it is only you who can decide if running this type of small business, will be right and make money for you.
Now that you have learnt the do's, before you start franchising as a means of earning extra money, here are some very relevant, don'ts, and the most important is not to hurry your inquiries, as this will increase your probability of failure.
How To Earn Extra Money If you are wondering how to earn extra money, are interested in starting a small business, and rather like the idea of working from home, then starting an ad network may be just the job for you. Of course an understanding of online marketing techniques is a bonus, but it is not absolutely necessary, as there are numerous good books on the subject.
Ad networks are one of the best ways of online advertising and the network element is classifying the sale of ads, and looking for high traffic websites to place hyperlinks or banner ads for your clients. Of course if you decide to offer banner ad design in with your work from home services, you will need to know about graphic design, or have a special software program to help you out, as this can do away with the costs linked with outsourcing to a graphic designer, and so you will make extra money.Ad networks are no different to other ad agencies, as they seek web sites that draw the target group of their clients. The revenue you earn with this home business comes from the percentage of advertising money that you keep during each promotion.
Business opportunities like this have strong international prospects, because online advertising is an essential part of market for all businesses, no matter what country they operate from. You will also have to give a great deal of thought as regards your own marketing techniques, and I hope the following tips will you to see how to earn extra money, and the marketing techniques you need to employ. To make money you first have to make sure that you have links coming from other online advertising directories, and work on a sponsored listings drive to bid on suitable keyword phrases with the top search engines.
You will make extra money, increase the response to your ad network, and receive referral business to your site if you develop a complete associate/affiliate program.Launching your own tactical banner promotion on websites visited by your target market will soon help your small business grow, as will participating in discussion forums and newsgroups linked to online advertising, or the line of commerce that your ad network aims at.
If you also work from home in graphic design you can make extra money by designing banner advertisements for businesses that are not talented enough to do this.If you are still unsure how to earn extra money with an ad network why not take a look at some real life examples, such as Ad Force and Dot COM Marketing.

Ways To Earn Extra Money
